The Frank McKenna Centre for Leadership is located in the heart of StFX’s historic campus. The Centre will enhance leadership opportunities for students across the range of disciplines. It will support targeted initiatives in the fields of public policy, business, and health, including a leadership speakers series, a leaders in residence program, and a global placement program to provide students and faculty with increased international experience. The Centre will support and build on the strong StFX foundation in service learning and outreach.
The Centre will also develop an executive leadership training program, including potential international collaborations.
Mr. McKenna donated $1 million towards the $10 million centre, which has attracted participation and sponsorship from prominent business people across the country.
“Academic excellence, leadership development, and service go hand in hand at StFX. Frank McKenna has chosen to lead this new dimension in our university’s development. His career, launched here on campus, has spanned public service, world affairs, and business. We are honoured by his engagement, and the support of the entire McKenna family,” said Dr. Sean Riley, President of StFX. “The presence of President Bill Clinton and many leaders in Canadian society is a tribute to his achievements and an indicator of great things to come.”
