New Challenges. New Opportunities.
As president of the StFX Alumni Association, I’m often asked why I decided to make StFX the focus of my volunteer commitment. The answer is simple: StFX has been a part of my life since I was very young and given the impact it has had on my life, I was always looking for a way that I could give back in a substantive way. Our time at X ultimately defines who we are and makes us better people. What better way to give back than by being involved?
Today’s StFX is facing both challenging and exciting times. It’s exciting because we continue to maintain the highest levels of alumni engagement and student satisfaction. There have been so many positive changes on campus, such as the Schwartz School of Business and the new home for the Coady International Institute. Challenges include funding and enrolment matters. Demographic changes have increased the importance of recruiting from across Canada and beyond our borders. Our strong national and international alumni network is truly a blessing in this regard; our alumni are increasingly introducing promising high school students to the StFX experience, helping StFX respond to these new challenges.
If you’ve been considering your own re-engagement with alma mater, there’s no better time. The welcome mat is out and your involvement can make a difference. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Hail and Health
